The Federation unites 163 communities throughout Ukraine. This historic meeting was attended by 32 chief rabbis representing different communities, emphasizing the unity of the Jewish community in Ukraine.
An important holiday is approaching - Rosh Hashanah. Rabbi Raphael Rutman, Vice President of the FJCU, blew the ritual shofar on the eve of Rosh Hashanah. This truly special moment reminds us of the importance and significance of this holiday - a time of important changes and new beginnings.
Rabbi Mayer Stambler, Chairman of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine, highlighted: "The 32 rabbis who are present today represent more than 200 families of Chabad emissaries. They made their choice in favor of Ukraine and have long considered this country their second homeland. We are doing things that we could not even imagine before - much like you, Mr. Zelensky - together with our families, thousands of volunteers, and hundreds of community leaders to help everyone in this difficult time. But we have learned to sacrifice and serve others for the common good."
The President personally presented the Orders for Courage of the II and III degrees to Ukrainian servicemen of Jewish nationality.
Zelenskyy also expressed his deep gratitude to the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine and all rabbis for their tireless work and significant contribution to the humanitarian cause. The assistance and effective coordination of communities play a crucial role in organizing rescue and providing the necessary assistance to Ukrainian citizens during this important period.
May the coming year bring us peace, prosperity and new opportunities. We wish you all prosperity and well-being!
